Bio
SamJ is a contemporary artist and fashion designer inspired by the anthropology of self. Their work concentrates on how we express ourselves, communicate subconsciously, and choose to find our place in a multimedia world through various boundaries and labels. Recently they have begun their own fashion brand Anon Binaire in 2024.
About the Work
Many mediums lend themselves to express one’s identity. Beginning with video performance, evolving into makeup and 3D scans, we have finally landed into the world of motion capture and VR.
About This Piece
By approaching the CryptoCubes project as if they were precious jewels, I aimed to create a sculpture that embraced the idea of rare jewellery. What would jewellery be in the metaverse and how would it look?
Future
Web3 has granted me access to so many intelligent people that I’ve been able to learn so much from. I feel like I’ve received an entirely new form of higher education from all of the collaborative and enlightening conversations I’ve had with the variety of Web3 personalities.
