About
CryptoCubes is a pioneering generative art collection of 256 unique 3D sculptures, created by Han Saglam in October 2020. Each cube is algorithmically generated with distinct attributes including Landmark, Color, and Volume, creating a diverse set of digital sculptures that exist permanently on the Ethereum blockchain.
The collection explores spatial computation, augmented reality, and onchain representation within digital and spatial worlds. Minted as an ERC 721 collection, CryptoCubes situates blockchain technology as an integral part of its artistic and conceptual framework. CryptoCube #43 is part of the LACMA permanent collection, donated by Cozomo de' Medici. Works from the collection have sold at major auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's.
In 2021, CryptoCubes Creators was launched as a collaborative initiative in which over 100 world renowned artists create original works inspired by individual CryptoCubes. The project remains ongoing, with new contributions continuing to expand the collection. Contributors include GMUNK, Refik Anadol, Zach Lieberman, DeeKay, Erick Calderon, Raf Grassetti, Rik Oostenbroek, Six N. Five, and many more.
