STVDIO NOUVEAU is an electronic music and multimedia art duo. The project was initiated in May 2020 with the intention to explore tokenized music and multimedia digital art. They minted their first album of works, titled "Audiovisual" on SuperRare in summer 2020.
About the Work
STVDIO NOUVEAU's work represents the intersection between 3D digital sculpture and animation, AI generated imagery, illustration, and video art - all paired with musical compositions. Their music is functionally "post-classical," utilising the full palette of modern sounds and styles freely at their disposal, while utilising old forms and structures to present their vision for 21st century absolute music. Their work is visually characterised by ambiguous settings and structures, and is underpinned by a self-described "abstract multi-verse narrative".
About This Piece
Our contribution to CryptoCubes, "Alliance" (CryptoCube #78) was released on May 17th 2023 as part of CryptoCubesCreators / The 7th. With a duration of 3 minutes 24 seconds, "Alliance" is an audiovisual work presented as an abstract narrative. The context given in the work's description is as follows: "An abstract experience. The impact of disparate objects. Unlocking new potential together." The video presents 3D choreographed interactions between CryptoCube #78 and "Mek" a digital sculpture of our creation for this piece. The video is set to a musical score composed to heighten the experience of the visual imagery.
Future
To us, the tokenization of art is a full paradigm shift. Once we realised that blockchain technology and NFTs grant the qualities of tangibility to all digital media, there was no looking back for us. The work that we have been inspired to create thanks to the crypto art movement is something we will always be proud of. It is still very early in our view however. We remember the times before tokenized art was given acknowledgement. It has now received a good deal of respect, and much progress has been made in the space. However, our early vision is that *all* digital media will flourish in this paradigm, including, and especially, music. We have infused our vision for the future in the body of work we have already begun to establish over the past 4 years.
