Bio
I am Darius Puia alias BakaArts, a 33yo Digital Art Designer based in Germany. I have been doing Surreal, Cyberpunk and Sci-Fi art for over 17 years and I design and have a keen eye for modern & colourful types of artwork but I also like to test newer themes. Lately I have also been trying darker and grittier, dystopian themes. I love taking on new design challenges and making the future come to life.
About the Work
I primarily work in 3D, building my scenes in 3D as well. I then use Photoshop for detailing, corrections, and finishing touches. When I'm travelling, I use Procreate for these tasks.
About This Piece
For my CryptoCubes piece, I wanted my CryptoCube to be the centrepiece in an industrial, dystopian environment inspired by the aesthetics of 90s anime and movies. I designed the surrounding environment in 3D and then moved it into Photoshop for detailing to match my theme and composition. To further emphasise the scale and importance of the CryptoCube, I added a small astronaut figure and a kitten.
Future
NFTs have changed my life for the better. They provided me with financial stability and kickstarted my journey into storytelling through my 2D designs. As a digital artist, NFTs gave me a medium to sell my artwork just like traditional art. I love the mechanics people build around NFTs and the possibilities they bring for future companies that decide to integrate them. I'm excited to see what comes next!
