Raf Grassetti is a renowned digital and traditional artist with over 20 years in the entertainment industry. Known for his work on iconic franchises like God of War, where he worked as Art Director for the last 2 titles of the franchise. Raf has earned top industry awards, including DICE Best Art Direction and MAXON Best Digital Sculptor. He is also a top-selling artist at Christie's and Sotheby's auctions. Currently based in Los Angeles, Raf is an Art Director at Sony, developing an original AAA IP while continuing to create his own art galleries, collectibles and books.
About the Work
My work mixes traditional sculpting techniques with digital tools. I start by building a basic model and then refine its shape and details using digital sculpting software. Once the model looks the way I want, I focus on adding textures and finishing touches to bring it to life. I use various tools to polish the final piece and ensure it meets my artistic vision. This approach allows me to create detailed, realistic models that combine the best of both traditional and digital art.
About This Piece
The work I created for the collection using CryptoCube #68 is called Primitives. It represents the search of beauty and life within primitive shapes. A big part of my journey through art as a sculptor is to find shapes within other shapes, and the complexity of the Cubes gives so many possibilities, carving away the mass until revealing the beauty within the forms.
Future
Digital art is and will always be what I love doing, NFTs and Web3 provided another platform to connect with an audience. I will always be producing and connecting with the people that love my work, and all I can hope is that people will do the same for me so I can keep creating. I learned so much over the last couple of years and I can't wait to see what's next on this journey.
