Bio

I've been a digital artist, live action director, and motion designer for over 25 years. I've done many big, complicated, awesome things in my career. I'm old and hardcore.

About the Work

I do a combination of lens-based cinematography, photography, mixed with psychedelic palettes, motion design, everything. I'm a master of movement and sound, and that's kind of where my passion is: movement, sound, light, optics, material. Optics is my passion, light, and reactions.

About This Piece

I took the Cube and put it in a refractive tunnel of water that was lit from the exterior with volumetric light spinning around it, and it was a very complicated digital execution that I most likely, in hindsight, should have just 3D printed the Cube and shot it live action on a miniature set. It would have saved me hours and hours, days, but I chose to do a digital execution because I just thought it celebrated the piece the right way, and just kind of putting the CryptoCube model into a digital rendition felt appropriate, and it was kind of just spinning in this infinite tunnel of refraction and specularity.

Future

NFTs and Web3 definitely provided an opportunity to break into the digital art space. It's something that's a huge part of my repertoire, a part of my career, and continues to be. I'm working on a huge new 8-piece collection for the end of the year, InfraMonk Volume 2, that's really interesting and awesome, and I'm really inspired by it. So stay tuned for that. That'll be released sometime in the summer or fall or winter of this year. I'm also working on feature film, computer vision, and concert visuals. I'm working on the new Tron film, on concert visuals for Billie Eilish and Eric Pridz, in addition to working on my new InfraMonk series. I'm just bouncing around industries. I'm locked in, very busy, and obsessed with optics, light spectrums, psychedelic palettes everywhere, mood, movement, music, sound, space.
