Bio

I am a digital artist based in Southern California, with a deep-rooted interest in cryptocurrency since 2013 and NFTs since 2018. My background in technology, consulting, speech analytics, and AI paved the way for my full-time transition into the NFT space in 2021. Formerly the Director of Curation and Artist Relations at Nifty Gateway, I am also the founder of Euskal Ridge Capital. In addition, I assist various artists and institutions with strategic planning and execution.

About the Work

My work is inherently digital, blending my skills as both an illustrator and 3D artist. I strive to create futuristic compositions by incorporating classical elements and textures, merging the past with the future to create a unique artistic expression.

About This Piece

For this collaboration I chose to re-explore one of my earlier artistic creations, focusing on the Ambitious Posterum series. I've always been fascinated by the constant innovation in this space, both technically and creatively. There's something unique about creating in a space that's still evolving, where taking risks can result in timeless legacies. This is why I felt drawn to revisit a series that embodies this spirit, which translates from latin to "Ambitious Posterity.

Future

Web3 has been an incredible journey for me as an artist, curator, and collector. I've had the honour of participating in the planning and execution of some of the largest art drops in this emerging space, gaining valuable insight into our true potential. The future of Web3 is incredibly promising. I can see evidence of this with the increased volume of conversations with institutions and traditional art collectors but more importantly the depth of these conversations compared to those taking place in 2018-2020. While we often think short-term, the horizon looks incredibly bright for NFTs and Web3 as a whole. As an artist NFTs has permitted me to define my artistic cadence. I release work under the Ekaitza pseudonym roughly every 12-18 months, while this may change in the future; this approach enables me to align my creative spark with the level of vision and execution I strive for.
