Bio
My name is DeeKay, and I’m an animator and digital artist from South Korea, now based in the U.S. With a decade of experience as a motion designer, I took the leap to become a full-time artist, embracing fine art and dedicating myself to storytelling through digital animation. My work is known for its distinctive style—blending simplicity and dynamism—while drawing inspiration from retro games.
About the Work
I primarily use Illustrator and After Effects for my craft. I start by designing in Illustrator, then bring those elements into After Effects, where I meticulously animate frame by frame to achieve seamless motion.
About This Piece
Right Click Savers was a playful project exploring the confusion around digital ownership. Many people assume that owning an NFT is as simple as right-clicking and saving a file. To highlight this misunderstanding, I added a CryptoCube to the artwork, letting people download and "own" it as a playful joke about this idea.
Future
Web3 completely reshaped my perspective as an artist. I once believed that working for clients was the only way to sustain a career, but Web3 has enabled me to become fully independent and carve my own path. As more people begin to understand its potential, the space will only continue to grow. It’s an exciting time, and I’m grateful to be part of this evolution while growing as an artist.
