Bio
Aeforia is a digital artist from Montreal, Canada. His work is all about colours, balance, and emotion. Blending surreal landscapes and digital portraiture, he has managed to craft a distinct style over the years and develop a keen eye for details, while focusing on the emotional impact.
About the Work
My work is for the most part digital, and could be considered as 3D art. To create a piece, I use a wide range of software, including Cinema4D, Octane Render, iClone8, DAZ Studio, Marvelous Designer, ZBrush, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, and Adobe's Creative Cloud suite. For my character animations, I use motion capture to speed up the workflow with a Rokoko Smartsuit Pro II and Smartgloves.
About This Piece
When I chose CryptoCube#161, its unique shape instantly inspired this idea of a futuristic stone held by a mythic and surreal figure, like it’s the guardian of this precious gem. The character was created and animated by hand using DAZ Studio. Its mask was digitally hand sculpted in ZBrush. Every element was then incorporated in Cinema4D where I built the scene with its lighting and camera. It was rendered using Octane and composited in After Effects. The score for this piece is also an original composition I created specially for it.
Future
NFTs have been incredibly meaningful to me as a digital artist. For the first time, people who enjoy my work could collect it digitally. The blockchain provides provenance, ensuring each piece is authentic and personally signed by me. This core principle gives me confidence that this technology has the potential to stand the test of time. I believe NFTs (or should I say cryptoart) will continue to enable artists to connect with their audience in innovative ways.
