Viva La Art
Bio
I have created art all my life in multiple different mediums, and worked as an Art Director for many years. In 2018, due to a series of online and offlines features in esteemed art and design publications, I was able to go full-time with my art. Since then, I have created work for brands like Burberry, Givenchy, Christie's, Apple, Cartier and many more, and I have been collected by the RFC Collection, and many others.
Through my work, I try to find our place in nature during this rapid technological age. I do this through various projects, and while they may differ in medium and approach, nature and technology remain constant.
About the Work
My work fits under the umbrella of image-making as I use different mediums, both 2D and 3D. However, my main medium is 3D, and since early last year, I have also learned to work with AI, which has been an exciting journey so far.
About This Piece
My Crypto Cube piece features different techniques, from 2D hand drawing all the way to 3D modelling. This piece was created during a time when AI had just started to gain traction, and it got a lot of critique. My message was to use whatever tool you want, and to celebrate art and all its possibilities instead of hating on AI and whatever else new technology that emerges.
Future
Web3 and NFTs provided a momentary opportunity for artists to make a living through their art. But I think everyone knew that what was happening a few years ago was not sustainable. However, these initial waves created what we have now - an opportunity to connect with other artists, curators and collectors through digital art. And that is the lasting, and perhaps even more important part of the 'digital renaissance'.
Moving forward, I see a bright future for digital art because the technology can be a medium in itself, which means that we as artists have gained an entirely new outlet and tool that we can utilise.
