Krista is a World Economic Forum Cultural Leader and Metaverse Editor of Singapore Vogue. She has contributed to publications like The New York Times and is recognized for her role as the first female NFT artist in the permanent LACMA collection and has been acknowledged in various publications and lists for her contributions to the metaverse and digital art.
In 2014, Kim started the Techism Movement as a response to society's increasing reliance on technology. This philosophy recognizes technological innovation as an artistic discipline and encourages artists to promote digital humanism within our digital culture. In 2020, Kim created 'Mars House,' a virtual environment rooted in her digital zen philosophy, which became the first "Metaverse home" for sale as an NFT. This work received significant attention and became the highest-grossing NFT sale on SuperRare in March 2021. Kim’s immersive installation ‘Heart Space’ at Art Dubai 2024 commissioned by Julius Baer, epitomizes the transformative power of digital art. Through ‘Heart Space’ and other visionary projects, Kim navigates the dynamic landscape of innovation and dialogue, reflecting on her artistic journey, the societal impact of her work, and the boundless possibilities for integrating art and technology in shaping our collective future.
Kim's work has been exhibited in venues such as LACMA, Times Square Arts, Sotheby's New York, Outernet London, Art Dubai, Hermitage State Museum, Carolina Linz Museum, Palazzo Strozzi, Palazzo Cipolla, Singapore Art, Dongdaemun Plaza Seoul, Tianjin Summer Davos 2023 and Davos 2024 for the World Economic Forum. She is the 2024 and 2025 winner of the Excellence of Digital art from the Createurs Designs Awards.

Kim's "Continuum" sound and light installation was featured in Times Square on 96 screens every midnight in February 2022. “Continuum” continues to be toured globally, transforming digital screens into spaces of mindfulness through a digital Zen landscape created to counteract the societal distractions and disconnections brought about by excessive technology use.
Inspired by her time at Kyoto’s serene Ryoanji Temple Garden, the artwork displays subtle gradients on screens that evolve slowly, fostering a tranquil visual experience intended to reconnect viewers with a sense of presence and tranquility.
This unique work aims to challenge and expand the boundaries of how digital art is experienced and appreciated in contemporary culture.
About the Work
My artistic practice is deeply rooted in digital minimalism. I create meditative, transcendent experiences using software like TouchDesigner, AI, and immersive projection technologies.
My works often involve gradient color fields and soft, diffused light to evoke a sense of calm and introspection. I see digital screens and the metaverse as a new canvas for artistic expression, allowing us to explore the intersection of consciousness, technology, and beauty.
My mission is to integrate art and well-being into our daily digital interactions, influencing the way we experience and design virtual spaces.
About This Piece
For my CryptoCubes piece, I wanted to explore the evolution of digital identity and how we can establish meaningful, human-centered spaces within decentralized environments.
CryptoCubes is a generative NFT project that allows artists to reimagine a modular, three-dimensional Cube as a unique artistic expression. My approach was to infuse the Cube as an architectural abstraction with my signature gradients, creating a luminous animated, glass floating structure that represents the duality of quantum reality and consciousness.
The creation process involved working with 3D modeling software and applying color field techniques to create an atmospheric and immersive quality.
My contribution to CryptoCubes was a step toward shaping the aesthetics of Web3 and reinforcing the importance of artistic storytelling in digital ownership.
Future
NFTs, Web3, and the metaverse will completely transform the way artists create, distribute, and interact with their audiences. Before blockchain, digital artists struggled with provenance, ownership, and monetization. Now, NFTs provide a decentralized system where artists can authenticate their work, receive royalties through smart contracts, and engage directly with collectors. But we are only at the beginning. The future of NFTs will be shaped by the convergence of AI, blockchain, and the metaverse, unlocking new possibilities for immersive digital ownership and interaction.
AI will revolutionize digital art by enabling dynamic, generative pieces that evolve over time, adapting to user behavior, emotions, and environmental inputs. We are moving toward a future where AI-generated NFTs will not be static assets but living, breathing entities that interact with their owners and the world around them. Imagine NFT artworks that respond to your mood, metaverse environments that shift in real-time based on biometric feedback, or AI-powered avatars that learn and grow with you.
Blockchain will provide the backbone for this evolution, ensuring that digital assets remain verifiable, scarce, and immutable. Decentralized finance (DeFi) and tokenization will enable new economic models for creators, allowing communities to co-own, govern, and fund artistic projects in a way that was never possible before. Fractional ownership will also open doors for collective digital art investment, making high-value NFTs accessible to broader audiences.
The metaverse will serve as the immersive ecosystem where these technologies merge, creating a new reality where digital identity, art, and social interaction are seamlessly intertwined. NFTs will no longer be just collectibles; they will be keys to experiences, evolving spaces, and intelligent digital companions. We are entering a new era where AI-driven NFT art and metaverse architecture will shape the future of human connection, creativity, and consciousness.
For me, the mission remains clear—pushing the boundaries of Techism to ensure that AI, blockchain, and the metaverse are harnessed to elevate humanity, rather than isolate us. NFTs are the gateway to this future, and we are only beginning to scratch the surface of what’s possible.
