Toomuchlag is a swiss multidisciplinary artist and founder. Known for his fantasy and futuristic works, he explores the dichotomy between light and dark, creating an iconography that blends the dystopian and the celestial. An example of toomuchlag’s interactive NFTs is Satoshi’s Coin. Toomuchlag has exhibited works in London, New York, Milan, Dubai, Miami, Los Angeles, Beijing, Las Vegas, Rio de Janeiro, Basel, Lugano and more.

Passionate about blockchain technology, art and storytelling, he constantly challenges existing boundaries to create new narratives.

Recently his work has been auctioned and sold at Christie's, NY.

About the Work

For my 3D artworks I like to work with Cinema 4D, Marvellous Designer, Octane Render, Zbrush, Substance Painter, After Effects and Photoshop. I like to experiment and adapt my workflow to the new available tech and always push myself when creating new artworks. A key component of my work is the blockchain mechanics embedded with the art itself, with which I generate dynamic experiences, conceptual experiments or ways for the collector to interact with the art itself.

About This Piece

I fell in love with Hanrgb’s project when I saw his first artworks on Rarible in 2020 and connected with him. I initially collected Cube #112 and held it for a while, until for the memes I listed it for 12ETH which was way out of the average price for these back then but eventually it got swooped, so I decided to create a tribute to the CryptoCubes, a 3D version of that very same cube, designed in my personal style. I am very happy to say this was the first tribute and collaboration for this historical project, after that a whole collection of 1/1 interpretation of the cubes was created and 256 artists participated in it. In love with the project I ended up collecting a few of these myself!

Future

NFTs and Web3 have revolutionised my career as an artist and my life as a whole. They allowed me to transition from working as a 3D artist for clients to becoming a full-time artist focusing solely on my own creations. This shift has given me the chance to experiment with blockchain mechanics and be part of an amazing community.

The future holds immense potential for increasingly challenging projects, thanks to rapid technological advancements. One of my goals is to create more immersive and interactive art experiences and constantly push the limit of what’s possible with blockchain art.

I’m currently working on a few projects that involve never-seen before uses of blockchains like Ethereum and bitcoin.
