Bio

Vinnie Hager is a visual artist from Baltimore, Maryland. He received his Associates Degree in Visual Design from Anne Arundel Community College in 2016 and has since gone on to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore where he graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in General Fine Arts in Spring of 2021. About the Work

Vinnie’s artwork is drawing based. His drawings are made up of shapes, icons, and symbols that connect through form and structure to create overall patterns. He then takes these patterns and adheres them to traditional mediums like paper, canvas, public art, clothing, and furniture. Vinnie’s iconography and patterning engage not only in these analogue materials but further explore digital applications and new technologies.

About This Piece

In late 2020, a friend and I discovered Hans’ collection of CryptoCubes, and we were immediately drawn to its innovative approach to digital abstraction. Captivated by the project’s aesthetic language, I acquired CryptoCube #102 in December of that year. This particular piece resonated with me, sparking a creative dialogue between its geometric structure and my own artistic practice. Inspired by its form, I reinterpreted CryptoCube #102 through my personal visual lens, integrating my signature iconography and symbolic motifs to create a unique 1/1 piece.

Future

NFTs and Web3 have transformed the way I approach my art practice, opening doors that I never could have imagined in a traditional setting. As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to bold lines, geometric forms, and recurring motifs—creating a visual language that bridges the physical and digital realms. Web3 allowed me to expand on that language in a way that’s both scalable and interactive, giving my work a life beyond static canvases. One of the biggest opportunities Web3 provided me was direct access to a global audience. Instead of relying on galleries or intermediaries, I was able to connect with collectors, builders, and like-minded creatives in real time, fostering an engaged community around my work.

Looking ahead, I believe the future of Web3 and NFTs will continue to blur the lines between digital and physical art. I see opportunities for deeper integration of blockchain technology into traditional art spaces, new interactive experiences and the continued evolution of decentralized creative ecosystems.
